Around fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement state they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then located multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the event," they stated.
Local authorities said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.
An important official commented the incident left him stunned and required to be resolved quickly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
